Welcome to Horton CE VA Primary School Web Site
Welcome to Horton CE VA Primary School.
Thursday 14th January - school will be open (unless major snowfall overnight). Village hall car park still deep snow when we left tonight (Wednesday) so you may need to park on road at bottom of hill to walk up. Hill cleared and gritted. Road outside school slushy and snowy. Paths in school grounds cleared and gritted (many thanks to Mr Meaden, Mrs Calderan and Mr Parks for their help). Swimming should be on but will text you if this changes.
Please continue to bring a change of footwear for indoors and as long as you have school uniform on the top half of your body (i.e. sweatshirt/cardi, school tie/shirt/polo shirt) then you can wear anything on your bottom half that is warm. This will be reviewed on Friday (15th Jan) - details in newsletter.
Horton School is a Church of England Voluntary Aided School for 50 boys and girls aged between four and eleven years of age. It is situated at the top of Horton Hill on the Cotswold escarpment overlooking the village and Severn Valley.
The catchment area for the school is typically from the surrounding villages and Chipping Sodbury. As a small school we are able to provide a richly varied education, which covers the National Curriculum and includes other valuable experiences from Reception to Year 6 including French lessons, swimming, music and a range of extra curricular clubs.
This creates a happy, caring and creative environment, which will be a strong foundation for the future.
